Polychromatic palettes employ three or more unrelated hues, often resulting in lively, energetic designs. While triadic and tetradic schemes are structured forms of polychromatic design, truly polychromatic palettes may not follow any formal color wheel relationship. They are common in festival branding, children's products, and artistic expressions. The key to successful polychromatic design is managing visual weight through careful distribution, ensuring one or two colors dominate while others serve as accents.
