Yellow 2 (#EEEE00) is a deep, rich yellow from the X11 Yellow series, one step darker than pure yellow with the same maximum saturation and warm golden quality. The slight reduction in brightness gives it a richer, slightly more golden character suited to design contexts where pure yellow would be too harsh. Used in data visualisation, golden accents, and design work requiring vivid but slightly richer yellow tones than the absolute maximum.

Pure yellow is the most luminous color in the spectrum, instantly associated with sunshine, optimism, and alertness. It stimulates the nervous system and enhances concentration, which is why it appears on school buses and warning signs. Yellow demands attention faster than any other color.

Medium yellow is powerful for attention badges, star ratings, and highlight accents in otherwise neutral interfaces.
