Color Theory

Teoría del color

El conjunto de principios prácticos y científicos para comprender cómo los colores interactúan, se combinan y afectan la percepción humana.

Color theory encompasses centuries of study from artists, scientists, and designers, from Newton's experiments with prisms to Goethe's work on psychological color effects to Itten's and Albers' teachings at the Bauhaus. It includes the color wheel, color harmonies, the properties of hue, saturation, and value, and the psychological and cultural effects of color. Modern color theory also incorporates color science concepts like perceptual uniformity and color spaces. For designers, color theory provides a systematic framework for making intentional, effective color choices rather than relying on trial and error.
