Mapeo de gama

El proceso de convertir colores de un espacio de color a otro cuando el destino no puede reproducir todos los colores de la fuente.

Gamut mapping is necessary whenever colors cross system boundaries, such as displaying Adobe RGB images on an sRGB monitor or printing an RGB photograph in CMYK. There are several mapping strategies: perceptual intent compresses the entire source gamut proportionally to fit the destination (preserving relationships), relative colorimetric clips out-of-gamut colors to the nearest reproducible color, and absolute colorimetric preserves exact colors that are in gamut while clipping the rest. The choice of mapping strategy depends on the use case; perceptual is preferred for photographs, while relative colorimetric is preferred for brand colors that must match exactly.
