Color Harmony

Monochromatic

A color scheme derived from a single hue, using variations in saturation and lightness to create visual variety.

Monochromatic palettes use tints, shades, and tones of one base hue to build an entire design. For example, a monochromatic blue palette might range from pale ice blue to deep navy. These schemes are inherently harmonious and elegant because there is no risk of hue clash. They work exceptionally well for creating mood, establishing brand identity, and designing clean, professional interfaces. The challenge with monochromatic schemes is maintaining sufficient contrast for accessibility, as all colors share the same hue and vary only in lightness and saturation.
