Color Theory

Primary Colors

Colors that cannot be created by mixing other colors and serve as the basis for all other color mixing.

In the traditional RYB (Red-Yellow-Blue) model used in art, primary colors are red, yellow, and blue. In the RGB additive model used for screens, they are red, green, and blue. In the CMYK subtractive model used in printing, they are cyan, magenta, and yellow. Primary colors are fundamental because all other colors in their respective systems can be created by combining them.
